How to Join ADMEI

Who Can Join?

As the pre-eminent organization for Destination Management Companies (DMCs), our mission is to:

  • Define the DMC industry
  • Uphold the highest level of professionalism
  • Establish standard business and ethical practices
  • Promote the value of local Destination Management through member and industry education

In support of this Mission, ADMEI has the following membership categories:

Company  - DMCs meeting key requirements and in business at least three (3) years.

Provisional - DMCs meeting key requirements and in business less than three (3) years.

Consortium - National and/or international alliances of DMCs who form select communities for the purpose of sharing collective efforts for business sharing, education, ethics, and Destination Management industry monitoring.

Supplier - Companies engaged in providing products and services related to the conduct and operation of DMCs and the meetings, events, and services they implement.

Faculty - Individuals employed as faculty in graduate or undergraduate academic programs in Destination Management and having met one of the following requirements; currently teaching at least two classes per semester; or currently teaching at least one class per quarter; or at least four classes in the past academic year.

Student - Individuals enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate academic program directly related to Destination Management for at least six quarter or semester hours. Verification of enrollment is required.

Dues Cycle

Members joining November 1 - April 30 will renew January 1 each year; and those joining May 1 - October 31 will renew July 1 each year.

What is a DMC?

A Destination Management Company (DMC) is a professional services company located in its destination and specializes in local expertise and resources. The DMC is a strategic partner to provide creative local experiences in event management, tours/activities, transportation, entertainment, and program logistics.

DMCs must meet key requirements to qualify for membership in ADMEI.  Meeting these requirements assures potential clients ADMEI member companies have demonstrated a basic level knowledge and experience.  Click here to view DMC Membership Key Requirements.

Company Member (Voting member)  $795.00

DMCs in business at least three (3) years.

Company designates one voting representative. Company members and their voting representative are listed in the public online member directory FIND A DMC.

Company Membership also includes up to four (4) additional representatives to be listed in the online member search FIND A REPRESENTATIVE located on the FIND a DMC page.

Membership is location specific. Company membership includes branch offices located within a 100-mile radius of the primary location. Member benefits (member rates for training, certifications, registrations, etc. and access to Members Only content) are extended to all employees of the member company location.

Provisional Member $795.00

DMCs in business less than three (3) years.

Provisional members enjoy all the benefits of Company membership except listings in the public online member directories. Once Provisional members reach their third anniversary in business, they are transitioned to Company members.

What is a Supplier?

Companies engaged in providing products and services related to the conduct and operation of Destination Management Companies and the meetings, events, and services they implement are eligible for Supplier Membership.  Supplier members may serve on ADMEI committees but may not hold a leadership position.

  • Listing in online Supplier Directory shown in Members only pages
  • Preferred opportunity to participate as an ADMEI Corporate Sponsor or ADMEI Conference Sponsor each year
  • Opportunity to be featured in up to (2) ADMEI Quicknotes annually
  • Opportunity to be a featured field expert to members via annual webinar exchange

Documentation Required:  Letter of recommendation from an ADMEI DMC member.  Members can be found via Find a DMC.

NOTE: Membership does not equal ADMEI endorsement of supplier member company or services

Supplier Member - 1st Representative - $2,500
                                 add'l Reprsentatives - $1,250

ADMEI acknowledges that education is a critical element to the success of those pursuing a career in the DMC industry.  In addition to administering the Linda Thompson Memorial Scholarship program, ADMEI proudly offers the following membership categories:

Faculty - $150.00

Individuals employed as faculty in graduate or undergraduate academic programs in Destination Management and having met one of the following requirements; currently teaching at least two classes per semester; or currently teaching at least one class per quarter; or at least four classes in the past academic year.

Student - $150.00
